Lukewarm Years
Touched
and saved by the Lord as a
child, Doris Faith’s is the life
story of a woman who spent over
40 years of her life literally
in the California and Texas
deserts, lukewarm toward God.
Doris’s Mom and Dad did not know
how to show their love. Then her
husband of 23 years told her
that he loved her, but not
enough. He surprised her when he
left by saying that what he
liked least about her is that
she did not like herself.
Cold
Years
Her failed
marriage ushered in the cold
years. Coming from a comfortable
life, she was dependent upon her
own resources for the first time
in her life. Working in the
construction industry, she was a
woman in a man’s world. Little
did these men know about her vow
that no one would ever put her
down or take advantage of her
again, without a fight. Doris
had great contempt for authority
and was totally out of control,
tasting many flavors of the
world.
Hot
Years
Jesus was
about to touch Doris for the
second time by bringing her back
to Texas to fulfill her longing
to have a loving relationship
with her ailing mother. Living
in California with a very
successful job, Doris gave up
everything to move back to the
Texas heat, where, little did
she know, her heart would soon
heat up as well.
When
Doris’s sister-in-law revealed
the truth that you can “really
get to know God” personally and
not just know about Him, she
began to go back to church – not
to meet her own needs, but
because of a growing awareness
of the Lord. That’s when the
Holy Spirit became her personal
trainer. Jesus took the pen away
from Satan, and now God is busy
writing the chapters of the “hot
years” of her life.

This is a
journey though Doris’s life, the
lukewarm chapters and cold
chapters mostly in Satan’s
control and finally the hot
chapters in God’s full control.
Satan can
do more damage writing the
lukewarm chapters than even the
cold chapters. In the cold
years, you know you’re out of
sync with God, but in the
lukewarm years you are
comfortable in your “religious”
lifestyle seeing no reason to
make changes.
Her story
will give people hope that even
though life may not be good, it
can be great. Follow Doris from
flight to fight to God’s way –
love – as Jesus snatches the pen
from Satan’s hands and becomes
the author of the chapters of
her life.
